There are a few soft skills which help you succeed; ambition is very important as it will show that you want to progress and be willing to learn new skills which will allow that to happen.
Confidence is also very important and it means that you will be willing to put yourself forwards to try and learn skills and also be willing to speak up if you feel unsafe with the work which is being carried out. Safety is the most important thing when working on a job.

It will dependsome what on the role, for project management I find problem solving and stakeholder management are top of the list. They are also skills you can develop on the job and through mentorship.
