Senior Communications Manager
I started working for Network Rail as a contractor, so my onboarding experience was slightly different. My advice is to be patient, not everything happens immediately or will work first time – especially technology! But there is lots of help and support available so don’t be afraid to ask.
As with any new job, there is a lot to learn and a lot of processes to follow but my new team was very supportive and helped me understand how things worked. I would take the time to read the HR pages on MyConnect and the induction pack. I would also recommend having one to ones with your new team to really understand the business and the role your team plays.
Don’t be overwhelmed, you are not expected to know how everything works immediately.
