I asked for more responsibility within my role to further my development I continue to ask in-depth questions to gain a greater understanding I try to remain proactive in my role, this allows me to mitigate more issues coming to my team.

I work as an Apprentice on the Procure to Pay team

We work to ensure our external suppliers are paid on time. We also look into why suppliers haven't been paid on time, analyse trends, and work closely with the suppliers to ensure that we resolve any queries sent over to us.

Collaborating with different areas of the business

Within P2P, we work with many different teams. These include invoice processing, Payments, Service Exceptions, Accounting etc. This has allowed me to develop so many skills and learn different parts of the AP Process.

Ask Questions!!!

You will learn the most when you ask a lot of questions! The teams are always happy to answer questions because it means that when you become more confident, you are able to take on more responsibilities which will allow you to progress through your career much faster. The other benefit is that having more responsibility, you are able to see more parts of the process. This is really beneficial when it comes to your apprenticeship project because you'll have LOADS to talk about!!!

The PO Requester Project & Overdue AP

Within my role, I have been overseeing the PO Requester Project. This is a project that requires myself and my team to contact out internal requisitoners and help them resolve their invoice queries. This has had a huge benefit to the business as it has allowed us to hit our KPIs and keep on top of the overdue amount! :)
