What would will be your advise for wanting to switch a career from transport to rail?

I work in Capacity Planning which falls under the bigger group called System Operator.

Personally I wouldn't view it as a total career switch. Chances are you already have a lot of skills in your transport role that will directly apply to rail. We've had people come from buses and aviation that have picked up the roles very quickly. But the same goes for people that have had a total career change (my team has a lot of former teachers!) or people that are straight out of education and looking to start their career. It's all about your enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things.
